Cognac

Cognac is an alcoholic beverage originating in the French town Cognac, where the white grape necessary for its production is grown and is one of the three areas with authorization to produce brandy with designation of origin (along with Armagnac and Jerez de la Frontera). It is a drink similar to Calvados and Armagnac, made by double distillation in copper stills of the wines produced in Cognac and aged in oak barrels for a minimum of two years. Depending on the aging time, we can find three types of Cognac: VS (Very Special), VSOP (Very Superior Old Pale) and XO (Xtra Old).
