Australia's winemaking history began in the eighteenth century, when British settlers arrived in Australia, and the bourgeoisie who settled in the country began planting vineyards of French origin such as Syrah, Semillon, Grenache and Riesling. The Australian wine veritable explosion occurred relatively recently (about 30 years), thanks largely by experimentation that have been made with European grape varieties, in particular, Syrah wines are recognized as one of the best red wines of the world.
