Italy

We are at the first wine producer in the world, Italy, or as the ancient Greeks called the peninsula, "Enotria" (land of wine). In Italy the grapes are grown throughout the country, from north to south, including the islands. Throughout all its rich history, Italy has cultivated many varieties already developed many types of wines. Their wines are classified into two broad categories; Quality wines produced in specified regions (VCPRD) containing the DOCG and DOC and the second category are table wines, distinguished between IGT and table wines. It would be difficult number all kinds of Italian wines because they also are made sparkling and liqueur, but we can say that the most famous wines are Chianti, Barolo, Valpolicella, Soave and Oriveto.
