Ireland is one of the major producers of whiskey, not by volume but by the quality production that reach their whiskeys. History tells us that it was the Irish who invented whiskey, St. Patrick brought a trip to Egypt a still, Irish monks who used to make the first whiskeys. The process is very similar to Scotch whiskey, the most characteristic difference is that the period of aging in oak whiskey must be at least seven years, instead of three as in the case of Scotch whiskeys.
