D.O.MONTSANT GEOGRAPHICAL SITUATION AND INFORMATION OF INTEREST It is located in the province of Tarragona, in the Priorato region and owes its name to the mountain range of the same name that crosses it. Its orography is rugged and its soils are very poor in organic matter. They are traditional of this D.O. the red and white Garnacha and the Cariñena although it has imported Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot, Syrah, Tempranillo and Petit Verdot with excellent results. It produces very interesting red wines, concentrated and rich in color, high in tannins, which gives them greater longevity. The rosés are gaining presence in this denomination being very fruity with the presence of berries. Rancio wine is a traditional liquor and very typical of the area, it is obtained from white or black wines. We cannot forget the Kosher wine grown in the Capçanes cooperative.
