Vermouth

Basically made in France and Italy, vermouth is a liquor made from white wine, absinthe and other mainly bitter ingredients. It is a liquor originally from Europe, which is taken in appetizers to whet the appetite. In Italy, red vermouth is usually made, which is sweeter than white and is made with more than 40 types of aromatic herbs. White is more typical of France, being stronger, drier and not as aromatic.
