Chile

The wine was introduced to Chile by Spanish conquerors who planted vineyards to produce wine for their religious rituals. One of the greatest achievements of Chilean wine is to have non-grafted vines before phylloxera thanks to natural barriers which account, it is for this reason that over 50% of wine produced in Chile is exported to more than 100 countries. The most valued variety is Cabernet Sauvignon wines obtained excellent quality. Throughout the time have appeared popular drinks based on wine as "bigoteado" (wine made from leftovers of other wines) or "chimbombo" (wine mixed with fresh fruit) among many others.
