Mexico

There are indications that ensure wild vines existed in Mexico before the arrival of the Spanish conquistadors. But it was not until the arrival of Hernán Cortés that began growing grapes massively using the variety "vitis vinifera" originated in Spain. The climate of the producing areas of wine is very similar to California, so they are used practically the same varieties (Cabernet Franc and Sauvignon, Merlot, Grenache, Chardonnay, Chenin Blanc ...), producing wines of excellent quality, which makes having a high price for Mexicans and their export is increasing in recent years.
